Association Shuyun Tsa'chila
Tourism Project Among the Tsa'chila community - Ecuador.

Three hours southeast of Quito, near Santo Domingo, you will find the Tsa'chilas or Colorados, one of Ecuador's many ethnic groups.

This is one of the few pre-Inca cultures that still exist. The community is well known for the men's red dyed hair, their knowledge of medicinal plants, and their powers of healing.

Eight communities consisting of only 200 families are struggling to defend their cultural heritage.

Under the threat of near extinction, several families in the community "El Post" have created an association to develop a tourism project to preserve their customs, knowledge, and language as well as to protect their nature reserve: Welan.

Visit for several days so that you can share in their rituals, dance and listen to traditional music, and live as they do.

This presentation may only be a sample of their cultural richness, but it provides us with a means of participating with an ethnic community that is disappearing from our planet.

It definitely is a unique once in a lifetime experience.
